Labor, Taxes, and Other Fees
We do not charge labor or tax. All rates on rate card are final. If we forsee problems with your carpet before it is cleaned, we will let you know at the time of service. To help avoid any surprises, please be as thorough as possible when describing any existing issues (spots, stains, excessive dirt) at the time you book your appointment.
For home visits, we charge a minimum of $95. If you would like us to clean a smaller ticket item such as an area rug, you are welcome to contact us about warehouse drop-off.
Move Out Rates
Though we do not charge more for Move Out cleanings, we do not generally accept monthly specials and coupons (such as “2 rooms and a hall”) for move outs unless specified in the ad or coupon. Move outs are quoted by “full home” rates square footage of home (full home rates on rate sheet).

We do offer a military discount. Since the bulk of our clientele is military, the bulk of our discount is built into our rate card, however we will honor an additional 5% discount with ID. We also run monthly specials specifically targeted to soldiers living on base at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
Carpet Cleaning Solutions / Chemicals
Many of our customers want to know whether or not the carpet cleaning solutions we use are safe for pets and babies. YES; the final step of our process is to rinse the carpet with clear water. Any product we put on the carpet, such as Teflon or Odor Destroyer, is completely safe and non-toxic.

If you would like more information regarding the exact specifications of the chemicals we use, please contact us and we’d be happy to answer any questions you might have. If you have a pet bird in your home you should never use Teflon.
We’re picky when it comes to our technicians! The first step is choosing an applicant who’s a great fit for our team. Our applicants must then undergo rigorous reference checks, a pre-employment criminal background check and ongoing, random drug testing. All Home Town employees are trained extensively in the warehouse, classroom, and field before showing up at your door. This ensures that the Home Town Carpet Tech who provides your excellent service is trustworthy, hardworking, and knowledgeable.
Preparing for Service
Before we arrive, you need to thoroughly vacuum all areas that we will be cleaning. The carpet cleaning equipment is not built to remove hair and large debris, but rather dirt in the fiber and under the surface, so this is an important step in making sure your carpets are completely clean. Move things that are easy to get out of the way; small items like toys and magazine holders, floor lamps, etc. should be moved into areas that we won’t be cleaning.
Our carpet tech will move your sofa and loveseat for you, putting the feet up on small foam blocks so it won’t rest against the damp carpet when we leave. Large pieces that cannot easily be moved (such as beds, entertainment centers, and very heavy furniture) will be edged around.

Move Out Service
If you live in DuPont, Steilacoom, or Lacey, chances are we’re a preferred vendor for your property manager. We want to help make your move as painless and stress-free as possible by providing you not only with quality carpet cleaning service, but also a full-service home cleaning staff, providing a complete solution to all your move out cleaning needs.
Local property managers have been working with us for years, and are sometimes willing to pull our fee from your deposit and work with our timeline to get your house clean even after you’re gone.
At the current time we do have room for a very limited number of new routine cleaning clients, and can always help with your Move Out or One-Time Clean. We are a preferred vendor for local property managers and can make the same arrangements for housekeeping services as we do for the move out carpet cleaning listed above. Protecting Your Home
We have several items we bring with us to clean your carpet that ensure we leave your home nicer than it was when we arrived. We wear shoe covers, use tough plastic corner guards in doorways to protect your moulding, and floor and stair rail protectors to make sure we don’t damage any part of your residence while we’re working on your carpet.
Trucks and Hardware
We use a top-of-the-line HydraMaster Boxxer 421 truck mount hot water extraction system that superheats the water through a series of heat exchangers. The solution and vacuum hoses attach to either the wand or the Rotovac 360, resulting in a powerful dirt-destroying apparatus that will leave your carpet ultra-clean and healthy. Clients may pay with cash, check, or credit card, and amount is due on receipt. For our routine housekeeping clients we will add the carpet cleaning to your next upcoming invoice upon request only.
Move Out Payment Policy
We require a credit card in advance for all move out cleaning services. We take a $50 deposit when the service is booked, and then charge the remainder the evening before we come to complete the job, so we can leave you with a paid invoice at the time of service.

Returned check policy
We charge a $40 fee for all returned checks and require a credit card for remaining account balance.
We currently serve Olympia, Lacey, DuPont, Steilacoom, Lakewood, and Joint Base Lewis McChord. We will also travel to other cities in the region for an additional travel charge, depending on the location.
Note regarding service on base:
Due to the extended length of time it often takes at gate access to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, we have limited booking availability on base, and try to group all on-base housing on specific days. Please call ahead for your on-base carpet cleaning needs as we are generally booked forward several weeks.
